A warm welcome from Matthew who looked after us extremely well during our stay. The staff were excellent both in the bar and restaurant. The food was very good, well presented and served in good portions. Our room was spotlessly clean and comfortable We had a perfect and relaxing stay and would not hesitate to book again .

It's a lovely apartment close to the center of town and very well equipped. The kitchen especially had plenty of dishes and cutlery and even two washing machines. Living room was comfortable and there were plenty of logs for the burner. There are two free car parks close by.

A clean and well furnished small first floor flat in the centre of Hawick. Very good communication with the owner regarding access etc and during the stay. Microwave in the kitchen. Comfortable bed and good shower. The complimentary wine is a nice touch. A great stop on the Border Abbeys Way.

Wow! Was NOT expecting this one!!! Booked last minute en route to the Highland Show. Slight issue on arrival as had had no signal on phone all day and hadn't received arrival instructions (they HAD been sent.... my ancient Apple i-phone just couldn't cope without full internet access!!) However , phoned hosts on arrival. They picked up straight away and were super lovely. The whole place was GORGEOUS. Sadly we were only there for one night but will absolutely book this one again as a Borders base. Great parking literally outside the entrance. Just be aware that there are quite a lot of stairs if you are travelling with little people or elderly parents. But otherwise fabulous location. Straight out of the door into Hawick and all its facilities. And try Adams Kitchen - just along the pavement - for a fab feed!!!

Hawick appears to have fallen on harder times and although...

Hawick appears to have fallen on harder times and although the main streets were extremely busy, there are a vast number of empty shops. There is still a reasonable range of shops and goods which cab be purchased. Plenty of Cafes, restaurants with quality food and drinks. People are friendly and there was a sports festival on which was led by a Brass band and followed by a pipe band. So fantastic to note that the old traditions are still followed.

It's a really pretty town.

It's a really pretty town. It was a complete surprise, I'd not been before but will definitely return. The local people are really friendly. There is a lot of fascinating history and beautiful architecture and views. Lots of affordable places to eat and a range of restaurants. We had a delicious Chinese meal. It was very easy to find our way around on foot, quite hilly in places and a central bus stop in the middle of town was handy. It would be good to have some things to do in the evening- the community cinema closed at 5pm and apart from restaurants and bars there didn't seem to be anything to do, however there are cinemas and theatres in nearby towns such as Galashiels. We had wonderful weather for being outdoors late in the evening and did a lot of exploring.

Hawick is a bit run-down.

Hawick is a bit run-down. After driving around to other places, I'd opt to stay in Ancrum or Denholm next time to have access to the sites I wanted to visit. There was a lovely restaurant, however--the Night Safe. It was the saving grace of the town, in our view.

Hawick has a lovely location in a river valley surrounded by...

Hawick has a lovely location in a river valley surrounded by hills. It is not an area popular with tourists, who mostly head to the Highlands. That's a mistake. The Ettrick and Yarrow Valley near Selkirk is stunning and much, much quieter. The Hawick town folk are friendly and the prices much keener than you will get in Edinburgh or the Highlands.

Interesting Border town with a lot of history and a...

Interesting Border town with a lot of history and a beautiful park. We had an Indian takeaway the first night which was delicious. We dined at an Italian restaurant the second night near Teviot Cottage which was excellent, lunch in the Pavilion restaurant in the park, again delicious. The playground in the park was absolutely stunning with so many activities for children to enjoy.

Delighted, just returned from this trip and would highly recommend to anyone planning a trip to the borders. The flat is great - lots of space yet a cosy feel to it. Attention to detail good - had everything we needed. Beds super comfy! Hawick is a great town with a deep history - good to explore. Thanks!

Beautiful scenery, very comfortable bed, perfect spot for exploring the borders. Lovely riverside walk on the doorstep. Can recommend the cross keys hotel in Kelso for delicious food and Annette was very attentive and gave us lots of advice on things to do. The prosecco was a lovely bonus too!

Location perfect for Central Hawick. High Street less than 5 minutes away. Park are (for walking the dog) within 10 minutes reach, along the river. The cottage has been decorated and supplied to a very high standard and is comfortable and remarkably quiet.
