Demelza Cottage apartment is self catering and nestled in the heart of the Cornish Countryside. The small hamlet of Demelza, which the well known Poldark character was named after has easy access to both north and south coast beaches and is a 10 minute drive to Eden Project. Please note that the apartment is on the second floor and accessed via an external spiral staircase. It may not be suitable for those less mobile or for very young children. It is also accessed via narrow lanes. Nearest fast charge station Victoria Services - 1.5 miles Tesla charging station: 4 miles
I moved to Cornwall in 2014 to escape the Berkshire rat race. I've traded in trendy clothes for wellies, a new car for one perfectly suited to the narrow country lanes, and I pretend to know what I'm doing on the smallholding.
If peace and quiet are what you're looking for, you've found it. A car is essential for collecting provisions and visiting the nearest pub. Demelza is a mixture of farmland, equestrian facilities, and woods with good access to the Saints Way, Camel Trail, north and south coastal paths for walking. The nearest towns are Wadebridge, Newquay, Padstow, Roche, Bodmin, and St Austell - all of which are within 20 minutes drive. Truro is approx. 30 minutes drive. The nearest beaches are Charlestown and Carlyon on the South Coast; Mawgan Porth and Watergate Bay on North Coast. The famous Fistral beach, known as the UK's best surfing beach is only 20 mins away in Newquay.
