Spread over 10.5 acres of fields and woodlands, it has modern facilities including well-maintained toilets, hot showers and an on-site shop selling local produce to make sure your stay is as comfortable as possible. The site, which is run by the people behind the very popular Fallow Fields campsite nearby, is located in Burmarsh, about half a mile outside the village centre where there is a local pub for meals, snacks and drinks. There is also a bus stop in the village, with regular services running to both Ashford and Folkestone. Fallow Fields Lathe Barn is definitely a kid-pleaser, and not just because of its proximity to the beach – there's a range of on-site activities available for both young ones and grownups here, including family film evenings, bushcraft, welly wanging and yoga. Dogs are also welcome to come and stay, and campfires are allowed too. Please note that this is a family-focused place, not somewhere for late-night parties. To ensure an enjoyable stay for everyone, the Fallow Fields Lathe Barn team asks that quiet hours be respected between 10.30pm and 7.30am.

Just a 9-minute drive away is Dymchurch Beach, this blue flag awarded beach is dog friendly and has parking available, with an amusement arcade in Dymchurch Village. Or visit the expansive shingle of Dungeness Beach or explore the Folkestone Harbour & Seafront with live music and street food.
