Fisherman's Flat is a bright and airy property overlooking the Firth of Forth and accessed up a flight of 15 stone steps. Once inside, the hallway leads into a large but cosy living room looking onto the village with comfy sofa and chairs, a smart tv with a streaming service, an inner open plan dining room with a large dining table and the kitchen with the most wonderful sea views. A flight of stairs takes you up to the first floor where a master bedroom with en-suite and far reaching sea views can be found, From here you can lie in bed and watch the ever changing sea and at night the twinkling lights of fishing boats and if you are lucky you may see a dolphin or seal. Also on this floor is a twin bedroom that can easily convert into a double bed if a second couple stays and the family bathroom with shower and bath.

Cockenzie and neighbouring village Port Seton have pretty much joined together into 1 village with 2 harbours. They lie on the Firth of Forth only 9 miles from Edinburgh. Fishing is still an important part of Cockenzie and an excellent fishmonger selling the local catch can be found only a short walk away as well as fish and chip shops. The property lies just of the stone beach and you can walk along the coast line in both directions. The pretty working harbours are ideal for walking around to blow the cobwebs away and if its raining, you can call into Cockenzie House and Garden, a 17th century mansion which houses a gift shop and cafe selling the most wonderful lunches and artisan coffee as well as pastries and other goodies. It often houses art exhibitions and is within a few minutes walk of the property. Also within walking distance there is a supermarket, pubs selling a decent standard of food, gift shops and a newsagent Cockenzie is an ideal base for exploring the sandy beaches of East Lothian, visiting the many golf courses and family activities and of course Edinburgh, an easy 10 minute train journey away.
