Company info

We took over the ownership of the Olive Tree in December 2017 having spent the last 15 years living in Spain where we ran a guest house and property management company. We are originally from Derby so know the location well, especially the Peak District. We love living in this quiet rural part of the world, with so many great attractions close by.

Property info

Built in approximately 1730 it was a coaching Inn on the old Leek to London route. Formerly known as The Hare and Hounds it became a Guest House approximately 7 years ago, with the current owners changing the name to the Olive Tree Stramshall in December 2017. We are in the centre of the village of Stramshall with a carpark to the rear. We have a licensed bar. Dogs are also welcome in the apartment only for a nominal charge (ring for info). All rooms are en-suite with tea and coffee making facilities and free WiFi.

Neighborhood info

We are in a rural location at the edge of the peak district, 6 miles from Alton Towers, 2 miles from Uttoxeter Town and its race course and the World HQ of JCB is on our doorstep. The market town of Ashbourne and beautiful Dovedale are only 20 minutes drive away. Other notable attractions are Sudbury Hall (NT), Trentham Estate, The Potteries, all within easy reach.
