Your hosts are Donna and Ed who warmly welcome you to our unique property. After many years living and working in North Surrey / SW London border, we decided it was time for a change of pace and lifestyle. Donna, who originally comes from the local area, is a registered midwife and manages our original property in the village. Ed runs a digital marketing consultancy, and together we purchased Hen Cloud Cottage with the dream of creating a peaceful retreat where guests can experience the inimitable beauty and tranquillity of our area.

Willow Cottage is a comfortable upstairs apartment set within our stone-built annexe, with the feel of a converted barn. With a private patio, garden views and its own secluded hot tub under a gazebo, it is a peaceful choice for couples or small families who want a little more space during their Peak District stay. You enter Willow from the patio through a small conservatory with seating — a lovely spot for morning coffee, muddy boots after a walk, or a quiet moment overlooking the cottage garden. Inside, there is a spacious kitchen-diner and sitting room, a master bedroom with a king-size bed, and a small single bedroom. Outside, the private patio has seating, while the hot tub is tucked away under cover for a more secluded soak after a day exploring Hen Cloud, The Roaches and the surrounding Staffordshire Moorlands. Willow is centrally heated and has a smart TV and Wi-Fi, so you can stay connected — or switch off completely. Willow Cottage is part of Hen Cloud Cottages, in Upper Hulme, a tiny but busy hamlet between Leek and Buxton. Upper Hulme is home to several farms, and the old mill and dye works buildings now house some thriving businesses. For walkers and climbers, The Roaches and Hen Cloud are a ten-minute amble from our front door. The views across the Peak District and west across Cheshire towards the Welsh border are simply stunning, and the climbing is world class.

 Cyclists of all types and abilities will enjoy the challenges of the local hills, tracks and trails. ‘Ye Olde Rock Inn’ is a fantastic pub, a short walk down the hill beside the stream. Here you’ll find a huge menu, a great bar and a welcoming atmosphere.
