High Bank cottage is a wonderfully spacious property which can be found in the delightful village of Bunbury, on the western edge of the Cheshire Plain. Most famous as the backdrop to the ITV series ‘Home Fires’, the pretty village is deemed ‘Quintessentially British’, and landmarks such as St Boniface’s Church and the local pub which stood in for the Doctors surgery, are easily recognisable. The butcher’s shop used has unfortunately closed but is now a coffee and tea shop next to the well-stocked Co-op general store and post office opposite, we are very lucky to have three very good welcoming pubs all serving good food, another café and a fish and chip shop, all in in walking distance. For those wanting to explore the great outdoors, you can walk around the village and onto Sadlers Wells Wood, Bunbury Watermill or take a stroll down to Bunbury Staircase Locks on the Shropshire Union Canal.
