Welcome to our family home in Portishead, with spectacular views over the Bristol Channel from our shared sun terrace and garden. Please read this before booking — we want guests to arrive knowing exactly what to expect. This is a shared homestay, not a self-contained rental. You'll have a private double bedroom, and you'll share the bathroom, kitchen, lounge, garden and sun terrace with us (the hosts) and our family of eight adult Havanese dogs. A note on the two rooms: The Channel Room has the sea view from its window. The Study is on the opposite side of the house and looks onto the road — quiet and comfortable, but without the sea view. Whichever you book, Bristol Channel views are always available from the shared sun terrace and garden. The dogs are small, friendly pedigrees who love people. They move between the house and the garden throughout the day depending on the weather. They'll likely bark when you first arrive or when the doorbell goes, and they may come up to say hello and look for a bit of fuss. If you're nervous around dogs, allergic, or looking for a pet-free stay, this isn't the right accommodation for you — please consider another property. If that sounds lovely, you'll find a comfortable, warm home with fast WiFi, streaming on the TV, a work desk, and easy walks to Sugar Loaf Beach and a good local gastro pub. Ashton Court, Bristol city centre, and Bristol Airport are all a short drive away.

Hi, we're Evan and Jane. We love opening our home to guests who enjoy a homestay experience — meeting new people, sharing a bit of their day, and making friends is one of our favourite things about hosting. We share the house with our family of eight adult Havanese dogs. They're small, pedigree, and very friendly — they'll greet you when you arrive, probably bark a bit to let us know someone's at the door, and are happy to accept any fuss you'd like to give them. They're part of the family and part of the experience. We're usually around the house, so you'll see us in the kitchen or lounge during your stay. Please say hello — we're happy to give local tips or just have a chat. Equally, we understand that some guests prefer a quieter stay, and we'll give you plenty of space. Please let us know your approximate arrival time in advance so we can welcome you properly.

We're in a quiet, residential neighbourhood on the edge of Portishead, with spectacular views over the Bristol Channel. Within walking distance you'll find a well-stocked local mini-market and a lovely gastro pub. Sugar Loaf Beach is about 14 minutes on foot. A short drive opens up plenty more — larger supermarkets, restaurants, Ashton Court (around 15 km), and Bristol city centre. Bristol Temple Meads Station is around 19 km and Bristol Airport around 25 km, so we're handy for travellers coming from further afield. It's a peaceful part of the world — relaxed, friendly, and easy to settle into.
