Kilmichael House is a peaceful, quiet Adult Only Property located on the edge of the village of Drumnadrochit (10 min. walk). We provide a range of well maintained accommodation, both traditional, modern and well equipped rooms ensure guest comfort. Our breakfast room is a large, light spacious area where every table enjoys not only a great continental breakfast (additional charge/cash only - by request on arrival) Free of charge is the fantastic vista of open fields, grazing farm animals and sometimes the bonus - views of young roe/red deer, birds of prey/game birds, endangered red squirrels, badgers etc. Situated in our own grounds, amongst a grove of Sequoia Trees Kilmichael House/Lodge is an Adult Only property and the interior provides peaceful, comfortable, well equipped accommodation for visitors who want to relax in tranquil surroundings during their visit to the fantastic Scottish Highlands. Guests enjoy the best of both worlds being close enough to the village but far enough away to enjoy our pretty garden grounds and surrounding open fields. Often you can spot deer grazing next to the house early in the morning /evening, birds of prey circling overhead to Tree Creepers and Red Squirrels scaling the Sequoia trees in the front garden. We take the security of our property very seriously and as we do not accept responsibility for guests belongings we recommend guests have adequate travel insurance inplace to cover all eventualities i.e. cancellation/loss etc. Guests should note (particularly Walkers/Cyclists) - We do not provide luggage Storage - We do accept baggage transfers by arrangement and within our operating hours which are drop off - 4pm - 7pm. Pick up- 8am - 10am. Outwith these hours is strictly by arrangment in writing. We do not allow guest luggage to be dumped outside our property. The area around Kilmichael House whilst being quiet leads in different directions to nearby Fort Augustus, the Fairy Glen - Glen Affric with its stunning views and water falls, the bustling town of Beauly and of course the Capital of the Highlands - Inverness are all but a 20 - 30 minute drive away. Kilmichael House also provides a great base from which to explore further afield i.e. to the Top of Scotland and back in a day (John O'Groats), Day trips to the Orkney Islands, Eilean Donan Castle and the mystical Isle of Skye, The west coast locations of Ullapool, Summer Isles, Gairloch, Poolewe, Applecross, Plockton - all noted for their fantastic landscapes, sandy beaches, wildlife and stunning sunsets are all easily reached and just some of the great experiences you will never forget. For guests wanting a break from travelling around they can enjoy the facilities within the village ranging from a good selection of restaurants (to suit all budgets), boat trips, exhibitions, nearby Urquhart Castle, horse riding, forest walks / cycle paths many of which provide breathtaking views of the surrounding area and of course Loch Ness.
