Company info

We are a husband and wife duo originally from Essex. We have been together for 7 years. Previously, we worked as lawyers before heading into self-employment. We decided that we wanted a change of pace and so we moved up to Scarborough to run the Kingsway. We are a friendly couple and we are always up for a chat with our guests. When we aren't hosting, we enjoy concerts, travelling and Leeds United (well, Stew does anyway!) and just enjoying everything Scarborough and the surrounding areas have to offer!

We are Stewart and Emily and we own The Kingsway. We live on-site and we are with you from check in through to check out.

Neighborhood info

The guest house is situated on Columbus Ravine on North Bay, a tree lined avenue leading down to the beach where there are many attractions including Peasholm Park, the Sealife Centre, the Open Air Theatre and the new Alpamare waterpark which is the largest in the U.K. The beach offers plenty to do including surfing and paddleboarding. Head over to South Bay and you'll find the Harbour, Luna Park Funfair and the amusements! Overlooking both bays, you have the beautiful ruins of Scarborough Castle which is well worth a visit. For a panoramic look over the whole of Scarborough, head back inland towards Olivers Mount, where the famous motorcycle racing takes place 4 times a year. Fancy a bit of country air? Hop in the car heading towards Whitby and within 15 minutes, you are out in the North York Moors. Or walk the Cleveland Way from Scalby Mills to enjoy it on foot. There is so much to see and do here that you'll never be bored and wished you'd booked longer!
