The breakfast was cooked to order. The tables in the breakfast room spread out so nobody was sat on top of each other. Quality food.

Cosy and warm little lodge with beautiful surrounding areas. Extremely clean and had everything we needed! The hosts absolutely made our experience- we stayed Christmas Eve and they popped round to give us a bottle of prosecco, chocolates and a Christmas card! Such a lovely gesture we will 100% be back!

Lots of shops and businesses closed.

Lots of shops and businesses closed. Really struggled to find food on the Thursday evening, no pubs serving food, restaurants closed or required booking. River was a huge disappointment as it looked like a stagnant green swamp(admittedly there hasn’t been any rain for a long time). Location was excellent for visiting Eden Camp, Pickering, Old Malton, Helmsley and surrounding areas.

Malton is a very quiet town.

Malton is a very quiet town. Nearly everything shut-off after 5pm. There is not much to do in winter or rain but the area is beautiful in Summer and Spring if you want to wander between the fields and discover nice areas.

Malton is a lovely Yorkshire market town with a great selection of pubs/restaurants/cafe's all offering a warm Yorkshire welcome. It is also convenient for the Coastliner bus which you can take all the way to Whitby or Scarborough or just to Pickering which is another quaint Yorkshire village and worth a visit. My husband has some walking difficulties but it was an easy place for him to walk around. We enjoyed spending time at The Royal Oak (great fish n chips), the Blue Ball Inn, the New Globe and our last stop would always be the bar at The Mount where we were staying. Everywhere we went offered a warm Yorkshire welcome. Definitely a place that we would return to no hesitation.

Central location to this beautiful little gem , bright and cheerful decor with happy quotes on the walls in the rooms and the bar . Malton has plentiful restaurants and bars with lovely shops to browse through. Went to a little micro brewery which was lovely lots of choice of ales and went for breakfast on the market square and sat in the sunshine .
