In the western region of the Cairngorms National Park, Loch Insh Chalets provide well-appointed accommodations at the Loch Insh Outdoor Center. The center offers a wide range of sports, a restaurant and free Wi-Fi in most accommodations types. Ski and snowboarding lessons can be arranged throughout the winter. Chalets of various sizes are available, and many have lake or mountain views. Each has a flat-screen TV with DVD player, and full kitchen facilities including a dishwasher, oven, microwave, kettle and fridge. Bedrooms are complemented by a bathroom with bath or shower. The Boathouse Restaurant has stunning views of the Spey Valley, and breakfast is served here each morning. The Quarter Deck bar looks out over the loch and dry ski-slope and offers coffee and homemade scones as well as beers, wines and spirits. Windsurfing, sailing and kayaking are among the water-sports offered on site. You can also enjoy walking, mountain-biking, archery, fishing, skiing and snowboarding. The apartment was lovely. We got the Feshie apartment. One small bedroom was on the ground floor with an en-suite and the other en-suite bedroom was upstairs with the kitchen and dining table, a lovely sitting room with very comfortable sofas....

You will feel like you are on your own yet have plenty of facilities on site should you need them, Including our own family run Gift Shop and Restaurant that are open all year. There is also a small family run Gallery in the village of Kincraig a short walk away (less than 1 mile.)

Property info

Superb, log chalets overlooking scenic Loch Insh where you can watch the waves crash in, or tranquil sunsets, over our privately owned beach. Set amidst the Cairngorm Mountain range at the base of Glen Feshie, the chalets lie in 14 acres of woodlands looking across 700 acre Loch Insh with its two islands, towards the Monadhlaith mountains to the North and West. To the Southwest the site is bordered by the RSPB Insh Marshes national nature reserve, the second largest of its kind in Europe, and a haven for plants and wildlife. This is the ultimate place to stay for a romantic, relaxing or invigorating break whether you are on your own, with the family or are having a get-together. Our log cabins offer a unique stop on your itinerary or a great base from which to explore further. These secluded log cabins are away from the hustle and bustle of every day life yet less than 10 mins drive to bus and train stations and the facilities of the villages on either side of us, Kingussie and Aviemore.

Neighborhood info

There are plenty of on site activities to take part in - canoeing, kayaking, sailing, windsurf, paddle-board, cycling, archery and dry ski slope. What views!, No matter what you like doing this is a good place to do it from. Bird watching, Star gazing outdoor pursuits, what a base to explore the Highlands and all they have to offer.".
