There are a few routes to walk to Kincraig, using the cycle/walking route. The Old Post Office Cafe Gallery sells absolutely wonderful food - I can highly recommend the soup with a cheese scone. Just make sure you look at the opening times as it's not open every day. The only downside is that there's nowhere to buy general provisions in Kincraig, for this you need to head into Kingussie, which is an 8 minute drive away as the cycle/walking path unfortunately doesn't go that far

Central to visit other areas of Scotland most being couple of hours drive away A roads were good to travel on some of the B roads but scary in icy weather lovely area we stayed at Loch Insh with lovely comfortable chalets

don't have enough space to say how happy we all were . the oldest being 80 years and the youngest 11 didn't even complain excellent meals / facilities / staff will defiantly be back and recommend to all young and old

Absolutely stunning, better than we could have asked for!

Absolutely stunning, better than we could have asked for! Lodge was gorgeous and location was spectacular (makes coming home very sad). All the staff we met were extremely friendly and helpful. We enjoyed archery 🏹 a day of watersports too which was also very reasonably priced. Coffee from the Boathouse was spot on and the meals were yummy! Really really impressed and will definitely be back! 🏄‍♀️🚣🏊‍♀️

The location is lovely by the lochside, but that is to be expected for a water sports facility offering what it does. The rooms were clean and adequate though maybe small for a long stay. The bar and dinding area was large and airy and had lovely sunny outlook over the loch with open terrace and tables.

Insh Hall is situated in a truly stunning location, right on the water and surrounded by hills. We didn't take advantage of the on site watersport facilities but the accommodation provided the perfect base to explore the nearby Cairngorm mountains. There are lots of great walks close by. Aviemore is the closest town which can offer you a supermarket and petrol station for supplies. The on site restaurant provided nice meals with a lovely view across the Loch. Our room was comfortable and clean. Would happily stay there again.

Large room with a good layout, warm and with excellent shower. The place was very quiet and peaceful with a large dining/sitting room. A small equipped kitchen means you can sort your own breakfast and dinners. All very well organised. There are plans to add a bigger kitchen. Tony was very welcoming and has done a great job in developing the Forces Manor to provide excellent value accommodation.

The accommodation was beautiful, spotless, and surrounded by breathtaking nature. The fresh-smelling towels and bed linen made the stay even more comfortable, and nothing was missing during our visit. We also appreciated the warm welcome and the treats waiting for us on arrival. A truly relaxing and memorable place — highly recommended!
