We moved to Fort Augustus to take over Lorien House B&B in Feb 2025. It was a complete career change for us but you could say it had been a dream of ours for 10 years! Billy is Scottish and originally from Lanarkshire, Debs is English originally from Nottingham. We love chatting with our guests but also respect those that prefer their own space. We are extremely knowledgeable about places to visit in our local area or further afield and offer many suggestions in our guest information book. We are happy to help our guests plan their day - just ask! :)

Billy & Debs would like to welcome you to Lorien House! Lorien House is homey and welcoming and is often described by guests as having a comfortable feeling of home from home. Each room has stunning views of the surrounding hills and some have views of the canal. Well decorated and furnished throughout with a modern guest lounge area where you can read, just chill or chat to other guests. Some of our guest rooms have been recently decorated to make your stay even more relaxing and comfortable. The B&B is centrally located within a few minutes walk to bars, restaurants, shops, the Caledonian Canal and Loch Ness, so you can park up and relax.

Neighborhood info

Lorien House overlooks the Caledonian Canal with its spectacular ladder of locks taking boats from one level to another. Fort Augustus, on the Great Glen Way, is an attractive village with stunning scenery all around. Increasingly being used by guests as a perfect base to explore the Highlands and your hosts are always happy to give suggestions of where to visit. Cruise Loch Ness operates cruise boats throughout the day to enjoy some time on Loch Ness and you may even get a glimpse of Nessie!
