Mansefield is a beautiful nineteenth century red sandstone house just 3 minutes walk from Lockerbie train station and town centre and just off the M74 motorway. Recently renovated, Mansefield is an old vicarage, attached to the former church of St Cuthberts. There is a wildlife garden, free wifi and plenty of free private parking. The house is decorated in a quirky individual style, full of art and interesting artefacts. All the bed linen is 100% cotton. The mattresses are top quality Eve mattresses, recommended as a top rated mattresses from Which magazine (the leading independent U.K. review site). Toiletries are from the Scottish Soap Company, an eco-conscious family business based in Stirlingshire. No single use plastics are used in my Bed and Breakfast. Breakfast tea, coffee and hot chocolate is from Clipper, a Fairtrade company, and eggs, milk, bacon and sausage are from local farms with high animal welfare standards. You can choose to have breakfast in your room, in the Pink Room downstairs or in the garden on warm days. Just over an hour from Glasgow and Edinburgh by train, Lockerbie is a great base to explore.

I fell in love with this house and garden in 2022 and have sensitively renovated it to be a warm and stylish place to live. My aim is to create a lovely memory of your stay in Lockerbie. I try to be as environmentally responsible as possible by not using single use plastics and supporting local farms to supply breakfast goods. Solar panels also supply much of the electricity.

There are many walks, activities and places of interest nearby. Lockerbie Memorial Garden, which commemorates the lives lost in the tragedy of December 1988, is 5 minutes drive away. Dumfries is just 20 minutes away where you will find the home of Robert Burns, the great Scottish bard. Caerlaverock Castle is 25 minutes away. Glasgow Airport is a 80 minute drive away and both Glasgow and Edinburgh are reached in just over an hour from Lockerbie train station.
