Very easy to find, a little gem of a hotel perfect for a short stay. If you like looking at antiques and guessing what old farm machinery was used for this has an excellent collection arranged around the grounds. This is our second visit, and just as enjoyable as the first.

We had a lovely over night stay the room was well thought out and inviting from opening the door the room smelled good bed was so comfy did not want to get out of it. Food was amazing evening meal and breakfast. Staff was so help full on the ball with everything. Bar was well stocked. Amazing.

Breakfast was delicious with a lovely hot meal cooked to perfection. Our host Christine was over the top lovely and so welcoming. Every question we asked was answered. Christine was so helpful and willing to give us suggestions on our travel route as well as recommendations for a dinner venue.

Really lovely stone built hotel with an old charm about it. Very welcoming host. Room was large and beds were very comfortable. Spotlessly clean too. Lovely breakfast with everything you could need. We only stayed one night while traveling south but it was a great stop off point. Wishing the hosts all the best in their new venture.

We joined the local church for their Easter Sunday service...

We joined the local church for their Easter Sunday service and had a great welcome - they were even offering breakfast snacks and hot drinks! The area was safe and quiet. We didn't use any of the local eateries though.

The Lockerbie entry is accompanied by a picture of Caerlaverock castle. You need to be aware that this castle is about an hour's drive away. There are less-well-preserved ruins of castles much closer to Lockerbie, a small market town with a few shops, a couple of pubs, several takeaways, and a supermarket.

We did a stopover on way to north Scotland.

We did a stopover on way to north Scotland. Beautiful quaint town. Stayed at the peaceful Mansefield and did a 2 min walk into town centre. Had delicious diner at Just Be. Visited the Garden of Remembrance, which was very sobering and just a reminder of how this beautiful peaceful town was rocked by an awful tragedy that echoed the worst of humanity. A town that will always be remembered for the Pan Am bomb, but that actually is so much more than that. Easy links by train. Too short a stopover as quite a lot to do in the area

As I was only there for work, it would be difficult to comment too much on the town itself as I didn't get a chance to see too much of it, although the areas I did see were lovely. However it appears a good base for exploring the South West of Scotland, with good rail and motorway links

I arrived late afternoon and went for a run.

I arrived late afternoon and went for a run. Didn't have a lot of time to explore. Will be back. The people I met were friendly and kind. This day we saved a dog 🐕 from being run down. He had run away or been abandoned and was running harem scare. So myself and the town dwellers all came together to help the dog. Well done this community spirit!

Absolutely fantastic wee place! Very clean, loved the eggs left for the morning! The wee touches made a lovely stay even better. Both my family and my in laws stayed here over the span of two weeks and both families said how fabulous the host Tina was. Highly highly recommend and we can’t wait to book the family in again! They’ve all said they won’t stay in Lockerbie if they can’t book in here!!

The staff and the food was fantastic, With the heat I even wanted to help when they got swarmed one day. Staff was very considerate and professional. Loved every bit of the stay. If I could would highly recommend it if your going to lockerbie. Food fantastic and great locally sourced and the portions made me feel so stuffed and ready to tackle the day. Breakfast great and fantastic.

Beautiful location with stunning views, just a mile north of Lockerbie. Lovely friendly and charming host Christine. Very comfy bedrooms and delicious breakfasts. Best haggis I’ve ever tasted. We heard at least 12 different types of birds singing at the same time as we sat in the garden in the evening sunshine drinking our wine.

The family that run the hotel are lovely, the grounds were lovely to walk in. Bed was very comfortable and good linen. The grounds are in the process of being cleared and replanted as it had become run down
