Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. Take time to sit and breathe in the pretty garden. In winter cosy up in front of the log burner and watch your favourite programmes on Sky or a film on Netflix. The cottage was converted around 1870 and is set at the foot of a small hill. It is full of character and is on different levels so it should be noted that there is the odd additional step on the ground floor of the property. If entering the garden from the kitchen there are a number of steps up to the garden which has been landscaped within the slope of the hill. For the more active amongst you Cartmel Fell is nearby and we are only a short drive to plenty of South Lakes walks. The local pub serving good food and drink is a 10 minute up hill walk away but the good news is it’s down hill coming back! There are no shops in the village and just to note no streetlights making it very dark at night, a torch would be useful if walking out at night. Although no shops, Grange over Sands is a 5 minute drive away where you will find an award winning butchers, a greengrocer, a number of lovely tearooms, Costa coffee, Tesco Express, Co Op, Spar and a variety of takeaways, in fact everything you really need. Next to the cottage is the village park great for all ages with a football pitch and skate park and plenty of space for all to enjoy. There is limited parking outside the cottage but room for one car and any additional cars can park up the lane on the main streets in the village .There is a public footpath running along side the cottage and garden which leads up to fields and a woodland. All serious foodies amongst you, check out the Michelin Star restaurants, L’Enclume, Rogan & Co at Cartmel and Heft at High Newton which all just a few minutes drive from the cottage.

We acquired the cottage back in August 2023 and just loved the peace and tranquility of the area. We can only spend some of our time here and decided to let it out for others to benefit from. It has been a labour of love and we hope to have achieved a homely and welcoming feel for our guests and hope you enjoy the cottage and garden as much as we do.
