Meerkat Manor is one of three B&B's at Appletree Hill Retreat., we also have Hedgehog Lodge & Badgers Burrow. Meerkat Manor is a cosy retreat, in a rural hamlet of Herefordshire. A safe haven for peace, tranquility and time out from busy lives. The Manor is a self contained living area with double bed, utility room (not kitchen) & shower room, own lounge\dining area which has been finished with a charming wood burner. Meerkat Manor hosts couples, solo travellers and we have multiple options to accommodate a family of four or five. Bunk beds, a sofa bed, trundle bed & travel cot. The Manor is a studio sized, independent living space attached to our family home, which is set in our small holding of 2 aches and surrounded by stunning country views. There is a safe parking area for guests, complimentary hot drinks and biscuits for your arrival, while you take some time to unwind and become familiarized with your surroundings. Maybe then you would like to amble round the acreage, to make friends with our 50 animal family, which include Zebedee the donkey, sheep, pygmy goats, hens, 3 cockerels & 3 Guinea Fowl. After a busy day, you may just want to relax, so we offer evening meals at an additional charge. Evening meals are an in-house takeaway menu, which ranges from Fish & Chips to Homemade Favourites. A mix of English & Continental breakfast is included with your stay, to be delivered at a time of your choice in a traditional hamper, enjoy in bed or at the quaint dining area.
I live with my partner in the adjoining bungalow, Appletree Hill. Meerkat Manor B&B is my passion and business, so the well being and care of my guests is paramount. My aspiration for you, is that your stay with us, is everything you wish for and more. So where possible I will be available, if needed during the day for any assistance or questions and in an emergency during the night. 'Close enough if you need me, but far enough for your privacy' The accommodation is a private area, with self check in, food delivered to the room through the private stable door. A full deep clean will take place between guests leaving and the next staying, on all hard surfaces, and frequently touched surfaces, door handles, light switches, remote controls etc. ALL linen will be washed in Anti~bacteria washing power and at the highest temperature possible.
Coddington is a very small hamlet with approx 12 dwellings, 2 working farms, a church and even its own vineyard. There are lots of lovely walks and public footpaths to follow in the surrounding area. The vineyard is open seasonally for tours if you fancy trying out some local wine and it has a small shop to brows round. The Malvern Hills are only a short distance away by car, for longer walks and spectacular views over Herefordshire and Worcestershire. We have 2 local country pubs, in Wellington Heath and Staplow, which we would highly recommend for that traditional experience of country life, food and drink. Colwall is a small village 3.6 miles away that has a convenience store and a selection of places to eat and drink. Our nearest town is Historic Ledbury, full of charm, tudor buildings, as well as modern shops to meander round before stopping in one of the many tea rooms for a comforting break. Further afield are the 3 cities of Worcester, Hereford and Gloucester with their inspiring cathedrals and shopping experience.
