The Novelist is a very special double hut joined by glass walkway. It comprises of a bedroom hut complete with copper roll-top bath, plus a larger hut with kitchen, living space and TV. This will be more spacious, suitable for longer stays! Built to suit our very specific location it is designed to make the most of our expansive views, and based around a spacious wooden deck making it very private and relaxing. The 2 shepherd’s huts are joined in a T through a glass walk way. From the luxury copper bath made by William Holland of Dorchester in the bedroom hut, you can soak in the best of our views – the window has been specially lowered to allow our guests to do this. In the living hut you can fling open the French doors and enjoy the best of the views from the sofa, or – at night – the mirror on the wall becomes a TV! The gorgeously styled interior is very spacious for a romantic getaway for two – and with wi-fi connection it allows for the laptop to come too. Like the Astronomer hut, there is a panoramic window over the bed for star gazing. There is an outside shower and wood fired hot tub
A key mantra for the way we live is to work with nature and not against it. In a bygone age – before mechanisation – this was a key ethos as nature can help when it is harnessed. This does not mean going back to basics or going without luxuries, it simply helps things to be achieved with out costing the planet.
West Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is central along the Jurassic coast World Heritage Site. Well known for excellent local cuisine - Beaminster itself has two top-100 eateries! - and its Arts Festivals and events. There is fantastic walking right from our gate. The Hardy Way is a journey through quaint villages and some of the most unspoilt parts of this beautiful county, extending for over 220 miles.
