Gorgeous detached cottage with it's own rustic little bar & EV charger just yards from peaceful Ferring beach and the Bluebird beach cafe. This 100 year old cottage has been fully refurbished for 2024 - it's charming, cosy and a little bit quirky - and fully equipped for a fabulous Ferring holiday! Ocean Cottage sleeps up to 6 guests in 3 bedrooms (2 kings and a twin) and has a bathroom and a shower room as well as a large West facing rear garden with patios, BBQ and plenty of seating. On the ground floor is a porch, living room, dining / sun room, kitchen and 2 bedrooms - a twin room and a kingsize with walk-in shower and separate WC washroom. In the living room, you'll find a pair of comfy vegan leather sofas with cushions, footstools and throws. There is a 55 inch Samsung smart TV, DVD player and bluetooth speaker as well as books, card and board games to keep you entertained. The sunroom has a dining table with a bench to seat 3 and 3 chairs looking out to the rear garden, or there is the option to dine alfresco on the patio. There is also a reading nook with a few books you are free to swap / borrow. The kitchen is fully fitted with all appliances incl microwave, washing machine, dishwasher and coffee machine. On the ground floor is a porch, living room, dining / sun room, kitchen and 2 bedrooms - a twin room and a kingsize with shower room and separate WC washroom. On the first floor is a further kingsize bedroom with space to fit a travel cot if you are travelling with a baby. Also on the first floor is a bathroom with large shower-bath tub. The detached garage has been converted into a rustic speakeasy style bar with a variety of fun lighting, an island bar with stools and a pair of lounge chairs. Driveway parking for 2/3 cars with EV CHARGER (Type 2 7kw untethered - additional charges apply)
I love Sussex and the seaside as well as property and interior design - what better way to share my loves with my guests that setting up beautiful holiday homes in this fabulous area !
Ferring is a picturesque, vibrant and popular seaside village with lots of fantastic local businesses within an enjoyable walk of Ocean Cottage. There is the very well known Bluebird cafe, serving delicious food, drinks and ice creams right on the beach just a 5 minute walk away as well as an organic butcher, a delicatessen with microbar, a cafe/bar, a fabulous tapas restaurant with cocktail bar that attracts people from miles around, a bring your own booze Indian restaurant, convenience stores with post office and a hairdresser. The village has a great community spirit and is very welcoming - there are often events at the village hall and live music and comedy nights at the various village centre bars. You could while away a week or even a month without needing to leave Ferring – in fact, that would be “get away from it all bliss !” However, if you do want to explore, Brighton, Chichester, Arundel, Goodwood, Steyning and Littlehampton are all close by. The cottage is very close to the bus stop for the route into Worthing. The closest train station is Goring by Sea. For walkers, there are flat walks along the beach, up the river Rife, across the river and fields into Kingston Gorse and for more of a hike, head up to Highdown Hill and onto the South Downs National Park.

The smoke and carbon monoxide detectors at Ocean Cottage are audible only so the property may not be suited to those hard of hearing if travelling without a hearing buddy. There is a travel cot (bring your own bedding) and a high chair at the property but please note that the maximum occupancy of 6 people at the property does include infants - this is for your comfort and safety as well as our insurance. For safety & security the front driveway area is monitored by RING cameras. A completed booking form detailing the guests on the booking and their nationality must be received no later than 14 days before your arrival date or within 24 hours of booking if booked within 14 days of arrival. Passport details are required for any guests who are not British, Irish or Commonwealth citizens.

"Pets may only be included in a booking if detailed on the booking form and if the lead booker agrees to the DOG POLICY -

- We accept one medium dog up to 20kg or 2 small dogs up to 10kg. (If you would like to bring more or bigger dogs, please contact us BEFORE booking.)

- We only accept dogs that are over 12 months old and fully house trained as well as kept flea and worm free

- If bringing a dog, please bring your own throws to protect furniture and a towel for your dog, and do not leave your dog unattended in the house or garden at any time.

- If you would like your dog to share your bed, please let us know and bring your own bedding (Dog hair on our bedding will forfeit your damage deposit)

- Guests are asked to check the gardens thoroughly to ensure they have fully cleaned up after their dogs before they leave – the cleaners will charge a fine of £50 if they have to pick up dog poo.

This property does not accommodate bachelor(ette) or similar parties.

Guests will receive a rental agreement which must be signed and returned to the property prior to arrival. If guests don't receive the agreement on time, they should contact the property management company at the number on the booking confirmation.
