Given the remoteness of the location, Rachel gives very clear instructions on how to reach it. The location itself has stunning views of the surrounding hills and the silence there is deafening. The house is clean and ready for guests. Rachel is a...

What a find. Lovely place in a wonderful location. Very peaceful and relaxing stay in the middle of the Yorkshire Dales. We walked from Horton in Ribblesdale station (about 5 miles), and on to Ribblehead the next day. Brought our own food to cook,...

Would 100% recommend! Beautiful house at the end of the beautiful undulating road to High Birkwith from Horton-in-Ribblesdale. The place is quiet and surrounded by farmland, a perfect countryside getaway. The house is in the Pennine Way between...

A beautiful house with comfy beds and a cute dog. Rachel was so welcoming and kindly offered to drive us back to the station on the morning after we completed the Yorkshire 3 peaks - which we were very thankful for! I couldn’t recommend more for...

The information provided was excellent which really gave me peace of mind. The owner was very friendly, as was her dog Reggie. we were treated like family rather than guests which was lovely.

Rachel was super friendly and happy to help in any way and her dog Reggie was lovely. It's a wonderful location for walking with the Pennine Way being out the front gate, however it was quite a drive to the nearest larger village. Perfect for...

Old Ing is a remote Yorkshire Dales farmhouse high on the moors on the foothills of Pen-y-ghent, with stunning views across to Whernside and the Ribblehead Viaduct from the front gate and across the valley to Borrins Fell from the front garden. We are surrounded by a working farm, so the sheep are our only close neighbours. The perfect tranquil hideaway - no distractions except for incredible views! We have two newly renovated, large and comfortable guest rooms - one double and one twin - offering a peaceful escape. The beautifully designed rooms are decorated in restful colours that blend into the surrounding landscape. Both rooms have brand new mattresses and fresh bed linen for a perfect night's sleep. The bathroom has a bath and shower and is shared between the two guest rooms only. Fluffy towels, shower/bath gel and shampoo are provided for guests. There is a large dining room that guests may use at any time, with a number of games and books that may be borrowed while you are here. Guests have full use of the well-equipped house kitchen, with plentiful herbs, spices, oil and seasonings as well as tea and coffee provided. There are amazing views from the front garden and patio, which you are welcome to make use of. There is also a barbeque area and you are free to explore the rest of the currently somewhat wild garden!
I have a background in contemporary art and returned to live in the Yorkshire Dales after a long time away. I love exploring and have travelled widely across the world for work and pleasure. I lived in the Middle East for a few years and was able to explore much of the region. I love learning about people I meet and the many different kinds of places people call home.
We are right up on the moors and there are walking and cycle trails on the doorstep, including the Pennine Way/Bridleway and Yorkshire 3 Peaks. This is also a dark skies area, so it's perfect for star gazing. We are about 30 minutes drive from the market town of Settle, where you will find supermarkets, local shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants, medical centre, the wonderful Victoria Music Hall, a swimming pool and other general facilities.
