Appliances include an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, washer/dryer, and for entertainment there is a TV and WiFi. Outside there is roadside parking available on a first-come, first-served basis, and a rear patio with furniture. Sorry, this is a pet-free, non-smoking cottage. Use of BBQs at the property is not allowed. Fuel, power, a starter pack for the woodburning stove, bed linen, and towels are included in the rent, and you can find a shop and pub within 0.1 mile. Old Stone Cottage is a lovely base for a trip to the Yorkshire Dales.

Pateley Bridge was voted Great Britain's Best Village High Street in 2016. The steep main street is lined with interesting shops, restaurants, bars, two award-winning butchers, a fishmonger, a bakery, and the oldest sweet shop in England. The nearby leisure centre has a swimming pool and the riverside park with children's play area is not to be missed. Craft Workshops and the award-winning Nidderdale Museum are also worth a visit. The Nidd Valley is also great for walking, cycling, and birdwatching.
