At The Hideaway peaceful pockets of nature are waiting for you to explore. You can relax and unwind in this peaceful country setting or you can put on your hiking boots & walk right onto the miles of footpaths that cross the South Downs. We are minutes from the sea and all the beauty and adventure it provides. We are 5 miles from Arundel and a 25 minute train ride to Brighton in the sunniest part of England. Chichester, the Witterings, and Goodwood are also a short drive away.
We live next door and are available during your stay to accommodate any requests or concerns you have.
We are inside the South Downs National Park on Highdown Hill. There is a campsite and a horse feed farm on the same farm track as us. Across the top of the hill is a popular dog walking trail and on the other side is a pick your own farm and shop. Also on the hill is the Highdown Hotel with a tea room, pub restaurant. In the village of Angmering, which is a 20 minute walk, there is everything you need for your trip. If you want to cook or bbq, there is a wonderful butcher and a great greengrocer, as well as a Co-op with a post office. If you’d like to skip the cooking we have a few tasty sit-down restaurants, an Indian takeaway and a great fish and chip shop. There are also a couple of options for breakfast. We provide an extensive list of food options for the area including takeaways and deliveries. We are 2 miles from the sea and in between the Rivers Arun and Adur. Arundel is 5 miles and Goodwood is 15 miles to the west. Worthing is 6 miles and Brighton is 15 miles to the east
