Company info

We are looking forward to welcoming you to our home in the beautiful county of Cornwall. We live in the house, are experienced hosts and will do everything to make you feel welcome and give you any information you need on the surrounding area and what it has to offer. We have dogs (whippets) that live with us but are kept away from the guests and have their own section of the house well away from the guests. We are a very relaxed couple and like that relaxed atmosphere in the house. We will always try to welcome you personally, but if we are out then we have a very good and simple entry process and encourage people to be self sufficient. We will always respect your privacy but are also happy to be sociable with guests as well.

Property info

Penwyth House is a lovely modernised period home set in the village of St Columb Minor, which is on the outskirts of Newquay on the north Cornish coast. We have three beautifully appointed rooms with King Sized beds and ensuite bathrooms and one single room with ensuite bathroom for the solo traveler or used for when families travel together. We have a fantastic local village pub which serves hearty well priced food only a minute walk from the house. There is a supermarket five minutes walk from our house which is well stocked with everything you need. We have guest fridges in all the rooms. The local bus stop is around a four minute walk and you are able to get into Newquay in around five minutes or travel further afield into Cornwall. There are a number of taxi companies operating in the Newquay area and the phone numbers are in the welcome pack we have in the rooms. Our garden is not overlooked and very private and guests are more than welcome to sit outside on relaxing chairs or sit at our table.

Neighborhood info

North Cornwall is renowned for its water sports including surfing at the iconic Fistral Beach and paddle boarding around the stunning coastline in the Newquay area. If water sports are not your thing then why not go for a hike on the hundreds of miles of the coastal path, cycle down the camel estuary or go in land and check out the Cornish heritage of tin mining and stunning country houses. There are beautiful and evocative Cornish harbours and villages everywhere, where you can enjoy some of our amazing seafood restaurants or have some fish and chips while dipping your toes into the sea.
