Imagine yourself in the grounds of a 16th Century thatched cottage, in rural Dorset. The river Piddle can be heard flowing nearby and the birdsong and gentle breeze is whispering through the trees. You are surrounded by fields, heathland and forests, and the Jurassic Coast is just a few miles away. Heaven... well that's what we think anyway, and we would like to share it with you. Come to stay in our beautiful log cabin, complete with a spacious raised deck with views down to the river Piddle.

The quiet and small rural village of Affpuddle is littered with thatched cottages and seeped in history. The river Piddle flows gently by the 13th century church, a peaceful place to sit in contemplation. The surrounding area is renowned for walking and cycling, with easy routes straight out of the door. The nearest pub is about a 2-mile walk along a quiet road in Tolpuddle, the famous home of the Tolpuddle Martyrs. The nearest village shop is in the exceptionally beautiful village of Briantspuddle, or there is a well stocked Co-op 4 miles away in Crossways. Historic Dorchester is 9 miles away, with shopping and many restaurants. Wareham has a beautiful riverside walk with many old shops. Or a little further are the seaside towns of Weymouth and Swanage (with it's steam railway), or the larger towns of Poole and Bournemouth. The Jurassic coast is a few miles away with Dorset coastal villages, the famous Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door, the SW coast path travelling along many remote rural beaches, and the sandy family beach of Weymouth. There are many tourist attractions within a short drive to suit everyone.
