Your hosts are Donna and Ed who warmly welcome you to our unique property. After many years living and working in North Surrey / SW London border, we decided it was time for a change of pace and lifestyle. Donna, who originally comes from the local area, is a registered midwife and manages our original property in the village. Ed runs a digital marketing consultancy, and together we purchased Hen Cloud Cottage with the dream of creating a peaceful retreat where guests can experience the inimitable beauty and tranquillity of our area.

Pine Cottage is one of two self-catering cottages on site. Two king-sized bedrooms, a private hot tub and suitable for those with mobility issues. Pine Cottage is a comfortable ground-floor apartment set within our stone-built annexe, with the feel of a converted barn. Modern, practical and easy to access, it makes a great base for two couples, friends or a family who want to spend their days walking, exploring and visiting local attractions — then come back to relax in comfort. Inside, Pine has the most modern feel of all our accommodation, with a new kitchen, American-style fridge-freezer and open-plan seating area. There are two king-size bedrooms, a shower room, central heating, Smart TV and Wi-Fi, giving you everything you need for a relaxed self-catering stay. Items available on request: - Iron, ironing board (FOC) - Hairdryer (FOC) - Bath sheet hire for the hot tub at additional cost. The private hot tub is immediately outside the apartment, ready for a soak after a day on Hen Cloud, The Roaches, Ramshaw Rocks or further afield in the Peak District. Pine is less about big views from the windows and more about space, convenience, comfort and location — a well-equipped place to stay while you make the most of the landscape around you.

Pine Cottage is part of Hen Cloud Cottages, in Upper Hulme, a tiny but busy hamlet between Leek and Buxton. Upper Hulme is home to several farms, and the old mill and dye works buildings now house some thriving businesses. For walkers and climbers, The Roaches and Hen Cloud are a ten-minute amble from our front door. The views across the Peak District and west across Cheshire towards the Welsh border are simply stunning, and the climbing is world class.

 Cyclists of all types and abilities will enjoy the challenges of the local hills, tracks and trails. ‘Ye Olde Rock Inn’ is a fantastic pub, a short walk down the hill beside the stream. Here you’ll find a huge menu, a great bar and a welcoming atmosphere.
