Portreeves is an extremely individual property, especially for the historic town of Arundel. Situated within the South Downs National Park, it was built in 1975 by a theatre director, and has been in my family since 1985. Portreeves is built on the site of the old Port Reeve master´s cottage, on the South bank of the River Arun. The Portreeves was the custom officer for the Port of Arundel. It is now an imposing, but comfortable family home. We welcome guests into two, 1 bedroom ground floor apartments. These apartments are completely self contained, but as we live on site we are available for any assistance required during stays. Guests have full use of our large garden, with seating areas, and children´s play equipment. We are family friendly, we accept dogs in both apartments, with prior arrangements. We also have on site parking. A rarity for Arundel town!

Myself and family have been welcoming guests to Portreeves since 2008. I enjoy sharing our wonderful home with lovely people who wish to experience the historic attractions of Arundel & the surrounding Arun Valley. I am delighted to be able to offer guests impeccably clean, comfortable, contemporary styled apartments, with everything guests need for a self catering break. I trained as a fine artist, and display my paintings in the apartments. My children particularly like welcoming other families, and dogs to Portreeves, and are happy to play together in the garden. My parents live next door, and also lend a hand welcoming guests.

Portreeves is just 4mins. walk from the town centre of Arundel, & 5mins. from Arundel station. Quirky, fun and cosmopolitan, the modern market town of Arundel in West Sussex, is full of history and heritage, contemporary culture and fantastic leisure pursuits. Many people will know Arundel for two famous landmarks, Arundel Castle and Arundel Cathedral, which dominate its impressive skyline. There's more to enjoy with a great range of things to do for families, couples and groups including fishing, boating, wildlife watching, outdoor swimming and walks on the nearby South Downs – the UK’s newest national park. Shop at independent retailers, antique markets and art galleries in the town centre or eat out in the many excellent pubs, cafés & restaurants. Arundel plays host to some of Sussex’s most popular events, including Arundel Festival, Arundel Cathedral’s Feast of Corpus Christi and Arundel by Candlelight. Explore more of the area's rich history and heritage at Arundel Museum, take a boat trip on the river, or at Swanbourne Lake. Visit Wetlands Centre, or walk, cycle or ride in the South Downs National Park. Swim in Arundel Lido, all on Portreeves doorstep!
