The neighbourhood The house is located at the top of a hill above the village of Cheddar in the Cheddar Valley; it is possible to walk down to the village. As well as a range of shops, cafes and restaurants, plus riverside walks, Cheddar attracts visitors who come to see the famous Cheddar Gorge and caves. Dramatically beautiful, the gorge is home to England’s highest inland cliffs. You can either drive through the ravine or walk along footpaths that reward with amazing views of the Mendip Hills. No visit to Cheddar would be complete without sampling some Cheddar cheese alongside a tipple of local Somerset cider. Cheddar strawberries are readily available as well along the roadside. Meanwhile, the Cheddar Reservoir is a popular place for birdwatching, fishing and gentle bike rides. A little further afield, there’s the Cathedral City of Wells and Glastonbury which is steeped in myths and legends. Meanwhile, the beach at Weston-Super-Mare is only 30 minutes away. Getting around A car is essential for travelling to the property and ease of getting around. Bristol Airport is a 25-minute drive.
