River Cottage is a lovely, Grade 2 listed, Georgian cottage. We have worked hard to preserve as much of the original atmosphere and flavour of a 200 year old home whilst making sure that it is relaxing and comfortable. Our aim has been to provide an opportunity for you to step back from the stress and haste of the modern world and find a bit of peace and simplicity. Forget millennial grey and high tech and think cottage-core and the exciting holidays of childhood, staying in the countryside, by a river, near to the sea. No need to rush while you're here. Slow down. NB. There are several steps to the kitchen and the stairs are narrow. Unfortunately the property is not suitable for anyone with limited mobility.
You will find us in one of the most beautiful corners of Wales in the heart of Snowdonia. River Cottage, as you might expect, is on the banks of a river, amongst the ancient Welsh rain-forest, not far from the sea. It's an excellent location from which to go walking or cycling or spend the day at the beach or in one of the nearby seaside towns; Harlech with it's famous castle or Barmouth with it's iconic rail and footbridge spanning the Mawddach estuary. Meanwhile, you won't be far from the small village of Llanbedr where there's a popular pub with a beer garden on the riverbank and a convenience store.
