If you like open fires, hill-walking from the door, tranquil mornings in a garden next to a river, dark skies and astounding stars, high speed internet (fibre), the sound of running water, a fully equipped kitchen, down-duvets, giant bathtubs, books and maps, views, red squirrels, a ducal palace, birds and otters, while staying in a well appointed 1745 property - you will like this house very much. We think you'll have a great time at this comfortable, secluded and peaceful place. The accommodation includes a large double room and a twin room upstairs in the main house, along with a second smaller double in a separate outside room adjacent to the house. There are two bathrooms: one with a bath only upstairs in the main house, and a second bathroom in the annexe with a shower over the bath. Please note there is no walk-in shower. There is also a separate downstairs WC next to the kitchen. Please note that Bedroom 3 (+ its en suite bathroom) is not accessible through the house. It is in the adjoining annexe - only a short walk around the side of the house from the front door. One polite dog welcome by prior arrangement only

This is a quiet isolated country house in Britain's first Dark Sky park in a very special Scottish glen. Situated in a quiet glen. The closest shops, pub and restaurant are 3 miles away. Local attractions include the Robert Burns house, Drumlandrig Palace (home of the Dukes of Buccleuch), Dumfries House, the Crawick Multiverse, the Caerlaverock National Nature Reserve are all within easy reach, and there is renowned biking nearby both on and off-road.
