How welcomed we felt and how comfortable the place was. You feel in the middle of nowhere and remote but you're only a 5 minute drive from Thornhill and shops if you need anything. I could not recommend this lovely little hut enough :D

During the whole stay you could feel how much love was put into the cottage. The breakfast was also superb, even the bread was homemade. In addition, everything was perfectly clean and there was plenty of space. Be sure to take a look out of the window! The view from the garden is breathtaking.

Great base for walking / cycling around the countryside.

Great base for walking / cycling around the countryside. Drumlanrig Castle and Estate a must-see - plenty to do depending on the time of year including fishing on the Nith or visiting the Castle. Thornhill itself is a pretty little village, with a Co-op for any forgotten essentials.

Friendly town, lovely meal in the Queensferryand Buccleuch...

Friendly town, lovely meal in the Queensferryand Buccleuch Hotel, and excellent Chinese takeaway too. There were loads of cafes and a couple of independent shops, and well stocked Co op and Spar. Had a good walk in the grounds at nearby Drumlanrig Castle.

Lovely location for exploring south west Scotland.

Lovely location for exploring south west Scotland. Very close to Drumlanrig Castle amazing country walks and spectacular castle. Went to the beach at Carse which was great for dog walks. Thornhill itself had a lovely local pub with good valued food. Local bakery and butchers plus Co-op and Spar.

Thornhill is a small village in “the middle of nowhere.”

Thornhill is a small village in “the middle of nowhere.” This is what a local said to me. The scenery is beautiful with the rolling hills and the farmers fields. The village itself is quaint with impressive looking buildings.

We stayed in Thornhill as we’d left Liverpool in the morning...

We stayed in Thornhill as we’d left Liverpool in the morning and I wanted to see Drumlanrig Castle in the afternoon. Very pretty little village with a few cafes, small supermarket and gift stores. Two pubs.

Thornhill is a lovely village some nice walks and places to eat some good local shops the property is lovely listed building with a great host Elizabeth Ann who looks after you and offers a fantastic breakfast you couldn’t want for anything

In a quiet location 1 mile from Thornhill, this property is beautifully renovated with lovely personal touches. Although it's designated as a ground floor flat in a large building, it's more like a semi detached cottage,with plenty of space. It's exceptionally well equipped, even including items such as sandwich bags and personal toiletries. Sharon was a very friendly and helpful host, who even offered to pick me up if I got lost on a local walk. I can't recommend this property enough.

Spacious and well equipped. A comfy bed and a lovely hot shower Beautiful lounge kitchen area with wood burner and patio doors looking out to a well established cottage garden. The location was excellent in the centre of Thornhill and close to a lively pub, a wonderful restaurant, and two good convenience stores.

The hotel is popular, it is in perfect location for an overnight stay, it was very clean , our room was clean and comfortable, the food was excellent, and nice friendly and helpful staff, would definitely recommend to friends and would definitely stay again
