The Piggery is a beautiful and romantic old detached cottage with a private, South facing, totally enclosed and dog proof garden (unless your pet can jump over head height with ease!) There is uutside furniture and a log burner for cosy warm evenings. Totally redecorated and refurbished in 2025. I try to be eco-friendly and sustainable and have started a cut flower bed in my garden so the more I pick the more they grow. I then use these beautiful and scent filled flowers to brighten up your cottage (season notwithstanding) See pics in main gallery. The bedrooms are small with the master bedroom having a UK king size bed (5ft) and the 2nd bedroom a standard double (4.6ft). The sitting area is big for such a small cottage and has a dining room area, a log fire, a very large screen TV and seating for 4 people. For anyone with pet allergies, please tell me before you book. We take pride in using a specialist dog cleaning service which is supposed to remove ALL traces of dog dander etc from the property. Beautiful quality furniture (solid oak table; very comfy hotel quality divan beds with 3" cool memory foam toppers. They are supportive but NOT firm. Original artwork on the walls). Well behaved dogs are very welcome (sorry, but please NEVER in the bedrooms). Character cottage but with huge smart TV's & super fast broadband. N.B. The distance from the main road mean that water pressure is low and the small kitchen, although newly redecorated) still has original cupboards which are no longer white (but are sparkling clean)! It is a fully functioning kitchen with a new full sized dishwasher but it probably not suitable to cook gourmet meals from! We hope that our guests will want to experience Cornwall's amazing chefs, Michelin starred or just down the road in the pub! Totally in countryside yet close to Truro and local beaches. Hi, I am Liz and I love living in Cornwall! I enjoy the beaches, the walks, the dog, eating out, staying in and cooking, films, music, travel and meeting new people. My travel style now is a far cry from my early days of travelling and working my way round other continents. Now I go for luxury, a VERY comfy bed, a good G&T and all mod cons. Old age (or at least middle age) must be creeping up as I am even beginning to like gardening! I try and do everything in most eco-friendly and sustainable way possible. The Piggery is quiet, peaceful and feels remote! There is a bus at the end of our lane and everywhere is close by car from us. E.g. 6 mins to Truro; 10 mins to nearest beach etc. A few guests each year are disappointed that you cannot walk out of the door and to shops, pubs and nightlife. I wish people would read the descriptions better! It is a quiet countryside location, which could be awful if you have no car but is pretty perfect if you want to drive and see all the sites of Cornwall. :) Lastly, I hesitate to put this for fear of being judged badly, but I am a perfectionist :( Anything other than a 10/10 upsets me for weeks (literally) and I obsess over what I could have done (within my power) to make it better. Therefore, if anything is wrong, broken, missing PLEASE tell me immediately and I will do everything I can to make it perfect for you. I deliberately make my cottage the cheapest for what it offers just so people are amazed at how lovely it is for the money and with all the extras I put in. Please remember, if you are comparing it to a 5* luxury hotel - and you don't think it's as good - that's not what you are paying for! Please compare it to the one small bedroom at the Premier Inn you would get which doesn't allow dogs and has no kitchen or living room for the same price! ;) I really love meeting people and trying to make your stay extra special. The Piggery feels totally in the countryside up a bumpy lane 70m from the road. There are 4 little cottages spaced out in what was an old farmyard many years ago but they are all private. The Piggery has its own secluded south facing garden not overlooked by anyone and it’s own driveway. Everyone in Cornwall needs a car! We have a big county with a lot of space between! If however you are not travelling by car the nearest train station is in Truro 4 miles away and there are many taxis who can drop you here. Also there is a bus stop literally right at the end of the private lane with buses every 10 to 15 minutes. It is NOT walking distance to anywhere! BUT all our guests tell us it is perfect for bing pretty much in the middle of everywhere you might want to visit in beautiful Cornwall.
