Rooftops is clean, bright and right in the centre of Hay on Wye. I have hand-picked the furniture, bedding and kitchenware to create a comfortable and stylish place to stay. Having stayed in many holiday lets, I have carefully thought about the things that have made my own stays great or not. Things like how comfortable the bed is, having a set of sharp knives, and good lighting. These are not huge details, but things that I think are important and make a difference.
My name is Ben. I have been living and working in the local area for just over 20 years and love spending time in Hay. I am a musician and work in meadow conservation. I have two daughters in their early twenties, who are keen to travel and see the world.
Whilst Hay is a pretty quiet town, there is a buzz on market day and it becomes quite busy during the famous Hay Festival. From 'Rooftops' you can be right in the centre of what's going on, but still have a peaceful stay. Access to all the shops and cafes is just a short stroll away and the castle is just next door.
Pop out for an ice cream at Shepherds ice cream parlour, coffee at The Old Electric Shop, a beer at Tomatitoes tapas bar or walk by the river to The Warren for swimming.
