Company info

We have recently taken over (19th May 2026) and are an independently owned business that proudly runs St Nicholas, a much-loved boutique hotel Shrewsbury guests choose for character and comfort. Our building has grown and changed over time, and with it, what people expect from a stay here. Today, the ground floor is a lively cocktail bar Shrewsbury locals enjoy, with a relaxed grill restaurant, while the upper floors are home to 13 individually styled boutique bedrooms. There has been a place of worship on this site since the 12th century, and now it has a new life as a welcoming boutique hotel Shrewsbury visitors can experience for themselves. The original church was demolished and replaced by the Presbyterian Chapel of St Nicholas in December 1870, which stood here until the congregation moved in the mid-1970s. Since then, the building has been used as offices, a gym, a café bar, a spa and, most recently, a boutique hotel. Many original features remain, including archways, carved pillars and stained glass windows, giving the hotel its distinctive atmosphere without ever feeling formal or fussy.
