Company info

We love the Isle of Wight – not only for its beautiful scenery and peaceful country roads, but also for its friendly, welcoming atmosphere and the incredible variety the Island has to offer. Alan and I are keen cyclists and are always exploring the Island’s fantastic network of on-road and off-road cycle routes. One of our favourites is the Randonnee, which takes you right around the Island through beautiful countryside, picturesque villages and some spectacular coastal scenery. One of the things we love most about the Isle of Wight is that there is so much packed into such a small island. You can spend the morning walking along dramatic coastal paths, cycle through quiet country lanes and woodland in the afternoon, and finish the day enjoying a meal or drink in one of the Island’s many pubs, restaurants and seaside towns. The Island has miles of beautiful coastline, beaches and countryside to discover, as well as pretty villages, historic attractions, sailing, watersports and plenty of family days out. There are wonderful walks for all abilities, from gentle countryside strolls to sections of the spectacular coastal path that circles the Island. The Isle of Wight is also well known for its cycling. With miles of quiet lanes, traffic-free trails and off-road routes, it is a fantastic place to explore on two wheels. We regularly head out ourselves and are always discovering somewhere new. Sunnycott Caravan Park makes a great base for getting out and exploring, with countryside walks and cycle routes right on our doorstep. Whether you are a cyclist, walker, sailor, outdoor enthusiast, beach lover or simply want somewhere peaceful to relax while discovering the Island, there is something here for everyone. Having explored so much of the Island ourselves, we're always happy to share our favourite cycle routes, walks, beaches, pubs, restaurants and places to visit. We want our guests to enjoy the Isle of Wight as much as we do.

Property info

Re-opened Summer 2026 – a new chapter for Sunnycott, a small independent caravan park that has been welcoming visitors to the Isle of Wight for over 50 years. Sunnycott Caravan Park offers a peaceful setting in a fantastic location for exploring the Isle of Wight. We’re tucked away from the busy tourist areas, yet ideally placed for reaching the Island’s beaches, towns, countryside and attractions. Cowes, famous for its sailing, is just a 5-minute drive or around a 30-minute walk away and has a great choice of restaurants, pubs, bars, cafés and shops. Newport, at the heart of the Island, is approximately 10 minutes by car, with shops, supermarkets, cafés and restaurants. The beautiful sandy beach at Compton Bay is around 20 minutes away, reached through lovely countryside and quiet country roads. Sunnycott is also a great base for walkers and cyclists, with countryside, coastal walks and cycle routes within easy reach. The Island is compact, so most of its beaches, picturesque villages, family attractions and famous landmarks are easily accessible from Sunnycott. After a day exploring, leave the crowds behind and return to the peace and quiet of the park. Sit back, relax and enjoy the sunset. Sunnycott is all about enjoying a more relaxed side of the Isle of Wight. Wake up to peaceful countryside surroundings, spend the day exploring, then come back and unwind away from the hustle and bustle. It’s a simple, friendly base for couples, families and anyone who wants to get out and enjoy the Island. Sunnycott may have only recently re-opened, but it has a long history of welcoming visitors. We’re proud to be a small, friendly independent park and hope you’ll enjoy discovering the Isle of Wight as much as we do.

Neighborhood info

Sunnycott Caravan Park is surrounded by beautiful Isle of Wight countryside, giving you a peaceful place to stay while still being close to everything you need. You can leave the car behind and walk to the local pub or down to the seafront, where you can pick up the coastal path and enjoy a scenic walk into Cowes. There are also plenty of quiet country lanes and routes nearby for walking and cycling. Supermarkets are just a few minutes away by car, and most of the major supermarkets will deliver groceries directly to your caravan – perfect if you’d rather arrive with everything ready for your holiday. We also have local fresh produce suppliers who can deliver directly to the park. It’s a lovely combination of countryside and convenience – peaceful enough to relax and unwind, but with the coast, Cowes, shops, pubs and places to eat all within easy reach.
