Exceptional Five-Bedroom Steading with Log Burner, Open Fire and Big-Sky Countryside Views | Sleeps 10.
Set in open Fife countryside just a short drive from Anstruther, this exceptional five-bedroom steading combines character, space and big-sky views — a brilliant base for larger groups, multi-generation families and dedicated golf parties. Think stone walls, solid oak floors, Juliet balconies and the original roundel, all blended with modern comforts and generous social spaces.
From here you're within easy reach of Anstruther's harbour, wildlife boat trips to the Isle of May (look out for puffins, seals and dolphins), and an excellent choice of restaurants, from award-winning fish and chips to Michelin-star dining. St Andrews, the world-famous Home of Golf, is around 9 miles away.
Offering 179 m² of accommodation, the layout is made for relaxed gatherings. On the ground floor, a welcoming snug with log burner and comfy sofas is perfect for curling up after a day on the coast, while the impressive open-plan kitchen, dining and living area forms the heart of the house — with an extending dining table seating up to ten and a further seating area arranged around an open fire, ideal for long, chatty evenings.
French doors open out to the garden and patio, and a spiral staircase leads up to a mezzanine level that works brilliantly as a play or games area for children. A separate utility room with laundry facilities keeps life practical on longer stays. Outside, a private garden and patio to the front provide space for alfresco meals, while a shared courtyard sits to the rear — please note the garden is not enclosed, so guests with small children or dogs will need to take extra care.
