The Barn at Ty Beic is a one bedroom detached cottage with exposed beams and stone walls and magnificent views of the Berwyn Mountains. It is furnished to a very high standard with a certain offbeat charm. Perched on a hill above the tiny hamlet of Sarnau, near Bala and on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park it is a magical place to stay all year round providing a perfect base for exploring North Wales. The living area has a comfortable sofa, dining table and chairs, TV with Netflix, DVD/Blueray player and music system with DAB radio and bluetooth. The kitchen has a hob, oven, microwave, toaster, fridge and a full range of cooking utensils. The bedroom has a superking size bed or two singles, depending on your requirements. The en suite bathroom has underfloor heating and a shower with plentiful hot water. Outside, there is a private garden area with a BBQ and access to the grounds, where you can use the fire pit or just sit and stare at the mountains. There is private parking, secure bicycle storage, bike wash facilities and a laundry. Bed linen and towels are provided.
Ty Beic is on the southern edge of Snowdonia National Park and is the perfect base to explore North Wales. The mountain bike centres of Coed y Brenin, Oneplanet Adventure, Antur Stiniog, Revolution Bike Park, and the ClimachX, Gwydir (Marin) and Penmachno MTB trails are about a 30 minute drive away. The area is also superb for road cycling, with quiet country roads, beautiful scenery, epic climbs and exhilarating descents on the doorstep. Snowdon is a pleasant and scenic 40 minute drive away. Aran, the highest British mountain south of Snowdon, is a 15 minute drive and Cadair Idris about 30 minutes. Away from the honey pots of Snowdonia, there are also spectacular walks in the Berwyn mountain range. Bala is also famous for its water sports. The world renowned National White Water Centre is in Frongoch, Bala. Bala Adventure and Water Sports Centre and Bala Sailing Club are both based on Bala Lake (Llyn Tegid). There is a range of activities available including windsurfing and sailing, kayaking and canoeing, gorge walking and climbing and abseiling.
