Tranquil, lovely setting that is convenient to sights. We enjoyed the sounds of peacocks and doves, the beautiful garden, and the sense of privacy in a shared building. Very homey and romantic. A great start to our vacation.

extraordinary charming and cosy old building in the middle of a wide farming area including free walking peacocks. Our 13yo daughter was completely enthralled. The landlords family lives next door and are very friendly and helpful.

Gorgeous place, really comfortable and warm. Hot tub took about 2 hours to warm, but when it was ready we spent a fabulous evening with a drink watching the stars. Both bedrooms really comfy, nice size kitchen with four seats around the table....

We've been hosting guests at Cholderton Estate (a family-owned organic farm in the Hampshire countryside) for several years, and have recently added our property to this website. The Coach House was the original grooms quarters, and is a private self-contained annexe within the Victorian Stable Block. It's an old historic building, so facilities are basic and the decor is traditional and rustic; but what we lack in mod-cons we more than make up for in character! You will have everything you need for a cosy retreat, including towels, bed linen, and provisions in the fridge so that you can make yourself breakfast at your leisure. Best suited to adventurous and nature loving guests looking for an authentic experience, either as a quick stop-off on their way to Cornwall, or equally for those wanting to use us as a base to explore the area. Managing expectations: an important thing to note is that there is NO LIVING ROOM in this property. Armchairs and a small sofa are provided in bedroom 1 along with a TV. It's also a small space compared to modern buildings, so might feel 'cosy' for 4 adults staying more than a night or two.
There's loads of outdoor space and the property is completely private and family friendly. We live on-site so you can knock if you have any problems. You also have your own access, so can come and go at your leisure. There's a tennis court, maze, and the farmyard is also a short stroll, with lots of animals, tractors and a farm shop cafe. Our favourite activity is a walk to our local award winning pub, the Malet Arms. It's an easy and scenic 40 minute hike and a cheap taxi ride back if it's dark. We love sharing our home and it's beautiful surrounds with our guests. We both work full-time and have small children, so it's worth making sure that you have all of your check-in information and directions in advance, just in-case we are not available when you want to arrive. You can access the property via a keypad lock (code provided when you book)
Although we are totally secluded, the property is also less than 5 minutes off the main A303 road, so easily accessible. We are lucky to be within a 10-15 minute drive of Stonehenge. We are an excellent base to explore the cities of Salisbury, Winchester, Bath and Oxford. Other points of interest within a 1-hour drive are Longleat Safari Park, Poultons Park (family theme park), Avebury, Marlborough and the surrounding 'Wiltshire white horses' and Stockbridge. There are also loads of activities locally, including great hikes through ancient landscapes and hill-forts, and some awesome local pubs.
