Excellent location right beside the the Salisbury Cathedral excellent views of the cathedral and the sunset through the windows and large room with historical fittings and furniture. The principal of the college spoke with us and made the experience more memorable. Breakfast was good and parking right outside the door which we hadn’t realized was helpful. We enjoyed the Evensong just next door at the cathedral and could wander to the high street in Salisbury for dinner easily then walk through the historic gates. Excellent value and wonderful experience.

I asked for a room with a window which could open when I booked because I am claustrophobic, they promptly responded that was not available. I still kept my booking and when I checked in the lady at reception was so caring and assured me that she would be downstairs all night if I needed anything, she even went as far to call a taxi for me to get to my destination the morning afterwards. Im sorry I didn't get her name. The breakfast was great, bed was comfortable, check in and out was a breeze.

We had 2 days in Salisbury.

We had 2 days in Salisbury. Our plan was to get an overview of the City, travel to Stonehenge and Old Sarum (the site of the previous cathedral) and view the cathedral and Magna Carta. Salisbury has many acceptable restaurants. We ate in the George and Dragon Pub - good pub food and a beer garden on the riverside! Also.at Prezzo's...Italian food that was also good. Salisbury is walkable, has attractive buildings and a great buzz with lots of events in the summer. Altogether a very enjoyable short stay.

The expert guided tour of the Cathedral was worth every penny. The town has an excellent range of shops and eating places. I most enjoyed visiting the site of Old Sarum where the original town, castle and cathedral once were. Parking was easier than I thought it would be.

A lovely city.

A lovely city. I thoroughly recommend the city tour organised through the tourist office. The Cathedral was interesting. We didn't have enough time to do the museum or Ted Heath's house so we'll have to go back. Great shops, super restaurants and a market on Tuesday and Saturday.

Salisbury is a lovely town, we fly to Southampton and then it’s about 50mins on the train, and Salisbury station is only about a 10min walk into town. The Cathedral is beautiful, the museum very interesting and Stonehenge is a must. Lovely big market square which has a market on a Tuesday and Saturday with some great pubs. Spoilt for choice for places to eat. We’ve stayed in Salisbury three times now and will be back again in September. There’s an excellent bus network if you want to go out and about, get the PR11 to the Boscombe Aviation museum. I’d happily live there.

Salisbury is a wonderful city, but the local council needs to be more forgiving on parking fines for visiting tourists - especially those with permits arranged by hosts. We've been stung there a couple of times despite checking parking signs carefully, you have been warned!

Place was ideal for our visit to the Solstice at the Stonehenge. Room was very spacious, really clean and with everything you need. Comfy bed and quiet room. We only stayed for the night, but I wish I had more time, since it was truly amazing. Noteworthy to mention was the hairdryer with diffuser, which was the first time I ever saw one in a hotel. I'm a curly girl, so you can imagine how happy I was. Definitely would stay again.

when we arrived at the hotel we had been given a room upgrade, which was very pleasing. We had a beautiful view over the river towards the Cathedral. The room was very spacious, comfortable and warm. Breakfast was very good and kept us full for the whole day! Having the eggs cooked to order was especially nice, the poached eggs were delicious. The staff , reception, kitchen and cleaners, were all polite, friendly and helpful.
