Very nice rooms. Wonderful staff. Quaint inn. We were able to drop off luggage early which was great and they took luggage to the room for us. Also, staff found us a taxi when ours canceled at the last minute. Food was delicious-had dinner in their restaurant.

Staff were really helpful and allowed us to store our kayak in a private courtyard overnight prior to the DW Race. We ate dinner in the hotel and the food was excellent. Young lady working both behind reception and in the bar was outstanding and very helpful.

We had 2 days in Salisbury.

We had 2 days in Salisbury. Our plan was to get an overview of the City, travel to Stonehenge and Old Sarum (the site of the previous cathedral) and view the cathedral and Magna Carta. Salisbury has many acceptable restaurants. We ate in the George and Dragon Pub - good pub food and a beer garden on the riverside! Also.at Prezzo's...Italian food that was also good. Salisbury is walkable, has attractive buildings and a great buzz with lots of events in the summer. Altogether a very enjoyable short stay.

It's a wonderful town. It's my ancestral home. Take a stroll up to the meadows and watch Marlborough College Cricket team play a game, whilst seated under the trees, by the pavilion, overlooking the town.

Stunning views from back lawn however insufficient seating should all the guests wish to sit outside. House(hotel) is very dated and could be regarded as quaint. Excellent restaurants in Bradford on Avon with Marlborough only a short drive , worth it.

Bowood Hotel is set in beautiful countryside and even in midwinter was lovely. The hotel and room were really well decorated and maintained. The christmas party evening was really well organised and the DJ was excellent. There didn't seem to be enough staff in the bar/lounge area in the evening, meaning that the tables were not cleared of afternoon tea things and dirty glasses for 4 hours while we were there. The barman was a little rude and slow. The floor in the Spa was dirty at 11.30am which was surprising. However the breakfast was absolutely delicious, lunch was really good and all staff were helpful on these occasions.

A walk around town.

A walk around town. All our meals at the Peppermill and other locations. Visited one old church. Wish we had time to walk around the other areas, the castle, the 'newer' church. The CAEN HILL LOCKS. What a wonder! You must find the car park and plan to spend at least a couple of hours here and speak to the boat people that are moving through. They will have the time while the locks fill! We were amazed.

Amesbury is a nice little town with shops for most needs. I really enjoyed dinner at a great Indian restaurant Tandooti Nights, and shopping in the One Brown Cow gift shop, they have lots of lovely things!

Ideally situated for visiting surrounding area, just off the A419 so Swindon to the south and Cirencester to the north are easily reached. Several places to stay and a few eating places are to be found. Overall a quiet little historic town that we have staid in and keep going back.

A lovely place to visit and to stay. Historically very interesting. The Abbey next door to hotel deserves a lengthy visit. Fine restaurants and shops. Some fine walks around the town. Nearby are beautiful villages well worth visiting.

Quaint old village with hiking trails, a pub, a hotel, and a coffee shop. Nearest grocery is about a ten minute drive to another town. We stayed for a few days, made a trip to Bath, ate good food at the pub 2x (Got to meet the owner/cook…try the meat pie!) and the hotel and the coffee shop ( all were good eats!) and took walks. (The church has an interesting old mechanism for its chimes)

It’s a lovely quaint small town with a good range of shops & pubs, but most pubs close early on Sundays. Well located to access Bath & Bristol & many other places of interest. Shame it doesn’t have a train station but Swindon is just down the road. I would stay there again
