The Coach House
A peaceful, newly refurbished coach house in Castle Hedingham with private access and off-street parking. Sleeps 2 - 4 with sofa bed downstairs. Perfect for singles, couples or small families with children attending a wedding at Hedingham Castle (3 min walk) or as a base to explore North Essex and Suffolk and the surrounding ancient villages and towns. Modern facilities including large bedroom with king-size bed, private bathroom with shower and underfloor heating, separate WC downstairs, kitchenette (no hob/oven), dining area, lounge area, HD TV, Wifi and patio outside space. Note: There is restricted head height in bedroom - see photos.
Hello! And a warm welcome to Castle Hedingham from Joy and Simon. Our Story After over 20 years living in London we moved to Castle Hedingham in 2014 to bring up our young family. Simon grew up in the area and with family and close connections in the village we settled in quickly. The main house and the Coach House on the property was a popular Bed and Breakfast in the late 1980s/90s but hadn't been operating for more than 20 years and was in need of renovation. We begun renovating the house and then the coach house juggling our busy work lives with bringing up two young boys. In 2025 we completed the renovation of The Coach House and (re)opened the property for guests in December 2025. Our aim is to give you a comfortable, relaxing and peaceful stay in this quintessential English village, whether you are attending a wedding at the iconic Hedingham Castle, touring the area or visiting friends and family, The Coach House is an ideal base.
Local attractions: Hedingham Castle: 900-year-old Norman Keep with beautiful grounds, jousting tournaments and open-air theatre events (3 mins walk). Colne Valley Railway: A heritage steam railway offering steam train rides and interactive museum. Kentwell Hall: A stunning Tudor moated mansion Tuffon Hall: Vineyard in Castle Hedingham Local Pubs/Cafés: The Bell (3 mins), The Wheatsheaf (4 mins), The Good Place (Cafe, 3 mins) Sudbury: Supermarkets, Train Station, Markets, Restaurants (15 mins)
