The perfect rural retreat for couples, families, wedding guests, dog owners, Somerset explorers, business travellers and people who just want to relax.
A spacious, beautifully equipped and self contained holiday cottage, sleeping 4: 1 king size bed, 1 very comfy sofa bed in the lounge, on the River Parrett on the Somerset levels.
A brilliant location, 5 minutes off junction 24 of the M5. Perfectly situated for Somerset fun, as well as being a cosy place to chill out.
We would like to invite you all to explore Somerset. We are a professional couple; Andrea, a teacher and Alex, an ex Royal Marine turned photographer. We have a dog (Betty), a cat (Bruce), 3 chickens (Beyonce, Lady Gaga and Adele), and other visiting animals. We live next door to a working farm and welcome families. We love our rural life and really enjoy sharing it with others. Well behaved dogs are most welcome and Alex will offer you a free dog photoshoot, if he is available during your stay.
We are available next door in the main house to welcome you. However, we respect guest privacy.
The cottage lies on the bank of the River Parrett, in the heart of the Somerset levels and on the edge of the beautiful village of Moorland.
Although only 2.2 miles from Junction 24 of the M5, it is very rural, with lovely country walks and the National Cycle way actually goes past the cottage.
There is one pub in the village - The Thatchers which is a very traditional cider and ale drinkers haunt. Just2.5 miles away along the Rover Parret is the village of Burrowbridge who has the King Alfred pub, a really nice family and dog friendly pub overlooking the river.
Walking / cycling / driving to this pub is a favourite activity for us and our guests. You will also find Burrow Mump in Burrowbridge - a stunning feature and local landmark.
