The Gem offers quiet and secluded accommodation in Winchelsea Beach, 3 miles from Rye and 9 miles from Hastings. The accommodation comprises of a suite of rooms containing one spacious double bedroom overlooking the countryside, a newly decorated and furnished guest lounge and private bathroom. The guest lounge is for your sole use and offers a wide screen TV, DVD, Alexa, Mini Fridge, tea and coffee making facilities and also offers comfortable dining and seating. Free wifi is available in all rooms. Weather permitting the garden, summerhouse and outside seating are available for your use during your stay, offering many quiet relaxing places to soak up the sun and the tranquil atmosphere. Free off road parking. The property is ideally suited for hikers, cyclists, bird watchers or for a relaxing break and is within a short walk of the nature reserve and the local beach.
The Gem has been a family home for 30 years and has recently been renovated throughout and offers a suite of rooms comprising of a double bedroom, guest lounge and private bathroom. The Gem is set back from the main road and is accessed via an unadopted road. The property is very quiet and secluded with the garden offering many quiet relaxing places to soak up the sun and the tranquil atmosphere.
Winchelsea Beach is popular with hikers and bird watchers, with walks to the nature reserve, rye harbour and to the quiet beach. For those looking for culture, the medieval town of Rye is only 3 miles away and is one of the famous historic Cinque Ports Town and is steeped in history. Rye offers cobbled streets, many boutique and antique shops. with views of the small fishing fleet and river leading to the sea. Rye offers many eating places including the famous Mermaid Inn, The Ship and Anchor, to mention just a few. There is a Farmers market every Wednesday morning on the Town Quay with a much larger market next to the railway station every Thursday, which is well worth a visit. Hastings, in the heart of the 1066 country offers visitor many tourist attractions such as; Hastings Fishermans Museum and shipwreck museum, Jerwood Art Gallery and the East Hill Cliff Railway to name just a few.
