The House with Two Front Doors is a 15th century house, in the world famous Mermaid Street, Rye . Its stunning low beams are from ships of that time… the squeaky doors and creaky floors fill every room full of the character you would expect to find in a house centuries old. Keeping only two of the bedrooms available to stay in, means the house is intimate and quiet. You will feel as though have this beautiful house to yourself. You can truly relax with Rye and all it’s wonderful, literally on the door step. There’s treasure a plenty to be found.
My name is Rachael and my hope is that every person who comes to stay at the House With Two Front Doors, will take home with them their own special story. A magic happens when people find a place to holiday and truly unwind, the problems and stresses of everyday life, gone for a few precious days. I will do my absolute best to help find that ah moment and make guests feel welcomed, relaxed and at home. Immersed in the history of this ancient place and certain to enjoy all there is on offer in Rye.
Rye is an ancient town filled with preserved historical sites including stone fortifications, Ypres Castle Tower, St. Mary's Church and the nearby Camber Castle. Just across the salt flats lies the famous beach hotspots of Dungeness and Camber Sands. In the other directions lies the beautiful town of Winchelsea and buzzing Hastings. The verdant country side contains many pastoral villages and footpaths.
