Company info

Harry's Campsites is a family-run business operating three campsites in the New Forest for over 10 years. We offer a unique blend of accessible back-to-basics camping alongside luxury eco-glamping. Harry’s Campsites promote enjoyment, understanding and environmental awareness for individuals, couples and families through camping and caravanning. Our campsites provide a unique experience to enjoy the natural environment of the New Forest. We encourage exploring the surrounding area on foot or bicycle, providing information on local walks, bike hire and cycling routes including the New Forest Cycle code, to maximise your experience nature.

Property info

The Old Airfield campsite is near Burley which is right in the middle of the open forest, so there are animals all around you (separated by fences). It is great for walking and cycling and is only 2 miles from the best beaches in the area: Highcliffe and Mudeford. It has hot showers, compost toilets and portaloos, with a stretch tent with communal seating, bar, pizza truck in the evening, barista truck with coffees and pastries in the morning. There are pubs nearby such as The White Buck in Burley or The Three Tuns in Bransgore. We have firepits to hire with grills too if needed. Our furnished bell tents at The Old Airfield campsite come with 4 single camp beds with memory foam mattress, rugs, bedside table and an outside picnic bench. NO bedding or cooking equipment is included so please bring duvets/sleeping bags and pillows with you as well as towels, blankets and cooking facilities. A torch is also recommended. Dogs are welcome. Please note the showers are all in one area, a short walk from the bell tents.

Neighborhood info

There are so many local walks direct from the campsite gate. Come to Reception for more information. You can walk all day without seeing a road, we have a selection of walks written out but it’s good to bring a map and discover the New Forest properly. The best way to explore the New Forest is undoubtedly on two wheels, so make a picnic and get on your bike! You can arrange to have a bike delivered direct to the campsite by Forest Leisure Cycling in Burley (call with at least 48 hrs notice if you’d like delivery, no deliveries on Bank Holidays). Forest Leisure Cycling have an extensive range of mountain bikes and E-bikes to hire and it’s run by the affable Mat and Luke from the close-by village of Burley. You can of course collect a bike from their shop if you prefer, but having it delivered to you is so handy and we would recommend taking them up on this service: Book early to avoid disappointment! They have mapped out 9 excellent bike routes, catering to a range of different levels and ages, so be sure to ask their advice as to which route to take - should you choose to hire from them. If you fancy a trip to the seaside, we are only 3 miles from the coast. We are so lucky to be situated close to some glorious beaches, many of which are also dog friendly! Highcliffe is the nearest beach to us. A really wonderful shingle and sand beach which is also ideal for bodyboarding and bathing. There are numerous promenades and cliffside paths to explore. You can also visit Highcliffe Castle - which has a lovely Café. Bransgore village is closer than Burley and has plenty of pubs. Try the thatched, 17th-century hostelry called The Three Tuns they serve really good food, are and cask-ale accredited. They are also dog and family friendly.
