This is a beautiful, quiet laid back B&B in a really remote Cornwall location. Host could not be more friendly or helpful, room lovely, beds good, countryside gorgeous.

Sara and Kevin are warm and friendly hosts who have created Treganoon house. An outstanding stay. Delightful easygoing gardens. Short walk to pub on narrow lane. I was fortunate to have been there in bluebell season. Couldn’t have been better.

We love sharing our love of Cornwall and the countryside with our guests. As a family we like to travel, so when we aren't travelling ourselves, we love to hear about other people's adventures - one of the best things about being a host is getting the world come to us. We have been hosting people for many years and are always happy to spend time talking about the many wonderful places to visit in Cornwall as well as hearing more about where people have come from. We will happily share with you ideas for days out and places to visit nearby. Guests are free to walk in our two fields that we planted up with saplings in 2013 with the hope that one day it will become a small woodland. Now wildlife has returned and we regularly see Barn Owls, Sparrowhawks and Woodpeckers along with deer, squirrels, stoats, bats and badgers in our fields. The house and fields also have views of the local granite tor, Helman Tor, with amazing evening sunsets. Guests are free to use our picnic bench and seating in our fields and back garden and our garage is available to store bikes, surfboards and other beach gear in.

Property info

Treganoon House is a rural Victorian Farmhouse, once the largest farm in the Parish, but over the years bits of land and barns have been sold off. What remains is a lovely old granite home surrounded by fields. In 2013 we took it on and have slowly been restoring it, whilst establishing a small holding in the surrounding 5 acres - Grand Designs meets The Good Life. We have spent the past twelve years renovating the house, creating our family home and providing a lovely rural location for our guests to enjoy. We have four guest rooms available, offering a choice of sleeping arrangements, ensuring that there is something that suits everyone. Treganoon House is found off a narrow Cornish lane that leads to a nieghbouring dairy farm. It is very quiet here, even in midsummer you can escape the crowds here. As one guest recently said "Excellent, secluded deep countryside location, perfect to wind down from a busy life." In 2025 we are offering our guests the opportunity to book a room only, with table and chairs, kettle, tea & coffee, crockery and cutlery available in each room so people can bring and eat their own light breakfast in their rooms. Alternatively, as an optional extra, you can choose from our breakfast menu and order from us the evening before. A variety of choices are available, from a full cooked English breakfast, porridge and different cereals, eggs - boiled or scrambled, a stack of pancakes, fruit compotes and granola; yogurts or home made bread and jam. You could order yourself a different breakfast every morning.

Neighborhood info

We are located in the rolling hills of the Cornish countryside, with granite walls and farm buildings common throughout the area. We are just off the Saints Way, half way between the villages of Luxulyan and Lanlivery, both of which have nice pubs serving locally sourced food. The nearby granite outcrop of Helman Tor and the wooded Luxulyan Valley both provide lovely settings for walks and picnics. If you’re walking the Saints Way we’d be very happy to help with transport logistics and can offer 2,3 & 4 day packages to suit everyone, just get in touch to find out more. The Eden Project, Heligan Gardens, the Camel Trail and the National Trust's Lanhydrock House are all nearby to explore. Fowey, Newquay, Tintagel and Padstow are all within easy reach of us and there are some great beaches on both the North and South coasts that are only a 30-45 minute drive away. If you’re coming to see a world famous band at one if Eden’s sessions we’d be happy to provide a late check in and to advise on transport, just get in touch. Getting to us will mean going off the beaten track. Although we're only 15 minutes from the A30 and 10 minutes from the A390 , you will feel like you are in the heart of the Cornish countryside. The lanes to our house are quite narrow and in spring the hedgerows are full of flower. Here the air is fresh and clean and the night sky dark. It's very quiet with most of the noise coming from the birdsong.
