I took over Tregarth House with my husband, Steve, in September 2015. I have always wanted to live by the sea and Cornwall was my dream location. We fell in love with Tregarth House as soon as we saw it and have enjoyed every moment since.
I have been into sewing since I was a teenager, making my own clothes as well as turning my hand to various crafts. In the past I have also owned by own fabric store. I am now enjoying adding my own touches to the décor of the house.
Property info
Tregarth House was built around 1908 in the grounds of the cottage in which we now live. Tregarth comes form the Cornish Tre, meaning home and Garth, meaning courtyard. So , loosely translated, Tregarth means the house in the courtyard. The House is quirky with the south facing rooms being angled to maximise the light from the sun. During it's life is has been a doctors surgery and latterly a care home from which the previous owners converted it to the B&B we now run. We currently have 4 guest rooms with another due to come on line in the late summer.

Tregarth House is literally 2 minutes walk from St Austell town centre and all it's amenities. This includes pubs, shops and restaurants as well as a cinema and bowling alley. It is also in close proximity to the local attractions of Fowey, Charlestown and Mevagissey as well as the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan. St Austell is also ideally placed to explore the entirety of Cornwall by car or local transport.
