Large bright rooms in a spacious traditional, Victorian House, on a quiet traditional street of large Victorian three story properties. And, just around the corner from Welsh Poet, Dylan Thomas's birth place. 3 rooms available, sharing a main bathroom but with 2 separate shower rooms on ground floor and toilets to avoid a clash in the morning. Double room is on the 2nd floor up 2 flights of stairs, and budget room is on the 1st floor next to the bath room. Ground floor room is on the ground floor with flat access to the shower rooms so for those who can not manage stairs. Kitchen is not available but each room has microwave, kettle, toaster and a fridge and we provide tea, coffee and 1 bottle of milk. Sainsburys and Tesco are on the next street along with many eateries, wine bars, a pubs. Also in your room is a welcome pack with wifi-codes, local info such a transport, check in and out times, quiet times etc. Please be mindful to read. Like many cities parking can be an issue and the street is permit parking but just at the end is free parking. This is a dogs home too. She does not have access to the guest floor but would be happy to enthusiastically welcome you. If you are not keen on dogs we will keep her out of your way, but if you have allergies to dogs or are scared this is probably not the property for you. Please note you are booking a homestay....this is our home and not a place for group parties, hen or stag nights. We offer good value budget accommodation, not a hotel or concierge service, but do we like to promote good sleep, quiet and restfulness and a home away from home.

Uplands is the Hip and Cool vibe of Swansea. A small area that feels more like a vibrant village than a city with the convienience of being just a 10 min walk down the hill to city centre and the beach, it has a strong community feel In Uplands you can eat your way around the world or sit outdoors in one of the many designer coffee houses. If wine is your thing one of the best wine bars is around the corner, the infamous Noah's Bar. Notable residents have been of Course Dylan Thomas but also Michael Heseltine, Kingsley Amis, Martin Amis and Sally Amis and Sir John Roper Wright. Around the corner is Cwmdonkin Park and a little stroll further is Brynmill Park with its lake, bowling green and pikniking areas. Uplands has something for everyone churches of every religion, nightlife and morning strolling, an ideal base for exploring the Gower.
