A beautiful 300-year old Georgian house in rural Wiltshire, boasting extensive gardens, fantastic location and a captivating history. The Grade II listed property dating back to 1780 is nestled in the small hamlet of West Kennett and stands within the World Heritage Site of Avebury’s standing stones. Arranged over four stunning floors, this spacious country home is an exceptional choice for large families or a group of friends wanting a relaxing escape, surrounded by the beauty of the British countryside and fascinating historical attractions. The bustling market town of Marlborough is also just a short 5 miles away, with a delightful choice of restaurants and independent shops. Points of Note: Book with us to get exclusive discounts to top attractions and experiences. The property has steps leading to the entrance. 1 small well-behaved dog is welcome for an additional fee of 40 GBP per dog. This fee is not included in the rental price. Please advise us at the time of booking if you are bringing a dogs and you will be sent a request for the additional fee. Please note, dogs are only permitted in the kitchen and sitting room.  The garden is enclosed but has two ponds and a water fountain so children and dogs should be watched at all times. Please note a 25% deposit is required at the time of booking. This is fully refundable up to 60 days of arrival when your remaining balance payment is due.

Nestled in the small hamlet of West Kennett, this special country home is situated in an extraordinary location. Set in one of the most important Neolithic landscapes in Europe, the house is located within the Avebury stone avenue, a World Heritage Site. You’ll still find a stone at the house’s gated entrance and can see a stone from the bottom of the garden. Walk from the garden along the avenue to the famous standing stone circle and Red Lion pub – the only pub in Britain actually located within a stone circle. The house is surrounded by fascinating historical artefacts including West Kennett long barrow and Silbury Hill, the largest Neolithic chambered tombs in Britain and largest man-made mound in Europe. Walkers can also benefit from the Ridgeway National Trail right on their doorstep. Marlborough and Devizes are a short drive away, offering restaurants, pubs and gift shops. Further afield, great days out include Longleat Safari Park, Stone Henge, Butterfly World and Salisbury Racecourse.
