Westlea Guest House is situated within the beautiful historic village of Alnmouth. Where Legend has it. It was once ruled by Pirates and how they took pleasure in burying their treasures. The Westlea overlooks the stunning sleepy river of Aln which feeds into the mouth of the sea, where you will see traditional fishing boats and breathtaking scenery of the golden sand drenched beach. You will cast your eye to the St Cuthberts cross where it stands tall on the ancient church hill, you can explore the ruins of the church which maybe over 500 years old. Within the village of Alnmouth there is many restaurants and eateries to have a treat following your adventures. Northumberland is famous for its grand castles. A short drive away you will come across the grand ruins of Warkworth Castle and the hermitage cave along the river, in the opposite direction you will find the stunning Alnwick castle with its famous gardens and waterfalls. A little further up north on the coastal route you will come across the amazing Bamburgh castle. You may also want to take a boat ride to the Farne islands or to holly island with The famous Billy Shields boat trips.
